Creative Website Design

Pixel Perfect and Coded to the Highest Standards

4W Web Design's primary strengths lie in pixel-perfect creative website designs that immediately engages the visitor.

In our experience, the elements that make a successful website are visual appeal, clear navigation, usability, content that informs the user, optimisation for search engines and fast loading times.

The Process of Designing a Website

Pre-planning

All proposed websites require some pre-planning to a greater or lesser degree. This establishes the requirements, focus, target demographic and an agreed Information Architecture (sitemap) to establish top-level and local navigation, plus any other details.

Websites requiring content management systems (CMS) or shopping carts will require a greater depth of planning, and bespoke development will require an agreed functional specification.

Website Design Process

website designers bristol

Our website designers create the layout, look and feel of the page design(s) in a graphics program and progress these with the client. This is a consultative process with multiple iterations that continues until the client is 100% satisfied with the end result. We additionally offer logo design and illustration services which can greatly enhance your website design.

Coding Standards

Once the designs are signed-off we then code these to xHTML/CSS ready for deployment as either a small website, or integration into the templating systems of a CMS, shopping cart or other system.

Coding is to W3C standards, semantic, accessible and optimised for visibility to search engine spiders using source ordered content.

Flash, Javascript, Video ...

There are many methods to make web pages more interactive and engaging. We are receptive to ideas and will advise on solutions.

From the Client

As part of the pre-planning process we will need an outline tree structure of the website content, draft text for the homepage and one subpage if possible, plus any imagery a client may hold. If required we will source inexpensive royalty-free stock imagery during the design process.
