Planning a Website

All proposed websites require some pre-planning to a greater or lesser degree depending on the size and scale of the project. This establishes the requirements of the client, the focus and target demographic of the site, an agreed Information Architecture (sitemap) to establish top-level and local navigation, plus any other details. More functional sites will require much greater planning to produce a functional specification for any required database(s) - see the Website Development section for further information.

Designing a Website

Once the pre-planning is complete we begin the process of designing the website in Photoshop (a graphics program), research photos and progress the design with the client until they are happy - once signed-off only then would we proceed to coding the design.

Design and coding through to SEO

We thought it would be helpful to potential clients to view an example of the stages involved in designing a website from the initial graphic process through to coding, final implementation and subsequent SEO efforts. Cribonline.co.uk, one of our clients, has kindly given permission to feature their site here as a case study. The website is an ecommerce site selling designer baby clothes and related products and uses a shopping cart system.
