What’s in a name – apparently a few million these days! The .com domain suffix is still the most popular by a loooong way with 82 million of the 111 million non-country specific domain names (.com, .org, .net, .biz, .info, etc) that have been registered.
For UK firms, a .co.uk domain is the best option – even if they can also register the .com version of the same name we generally advise to use the .co.uk as the primary domain name. One reason is that search engines will attach more relevance to it when users restrict search results to the UK only.

We at 4W invested in the domain name 4w.co.uk several years ago paying what we thought then was quite a high fee (£500) but worthwhile both in use for our business and as an investment.
